Makerere University Building Unit (MUBU) was established in 1989 purposely to carry out small-medium construction/ renovation works in order to save money paid to consultants on medium sized jobs among other benefits to the University.

M/S MUBU widened its area of operation and in 1995 was elevated to the status of Commercial Units and started to operate commercially generating profits.

M/S MUBU was legally registered on 10th March 1998 by the Registrar of Companies, as a SOLE PROPRIETOR fully owned by Makerere University Council.

M/S MUBU was incorporated as a Limited Company in 2006 and today she can handle construction projects of over Ugsh. 500,000,000/=.

OBJECTIVES

• To carryout trade/ business of Surveying, Planning, Designing and Building & Civil Engineering constructions
• To purchase/ acquire land, housing Estates, Workshop premises, etc.
• To carry out Mechanical installations inclusive of Plumbing and Drainage works.
• To carry out Electrical Installations
• To invest the funds in shares/ loan capital
• To procure the Company to be registered/ recognized in other countries.
• To carry out Metal fabrication work
• To Carry out and diversify Block making and Furniture making.
• To purchase heavy construction Plant
